A judge has to determine whether or not lawmakers will continue to pay the legal fees of Nikolas Cruz. Cruz has stated that he was going to inherit $800,00 from his deceased parents when he turned 22. It is possible that the state of Florida will be reimbursed for Cruz's legal fees once the case is over.

It seems crazy that lawmakers have to pay for a criminal's legal team even when he is obviously guilty of committing the crime he is accused of. If Cruz does inherit the $800,000 hopefull the state of Florida will get all the money back that was spent representing him.
