In Bucks County, Philadelphia many dog owners are blaming the herbicides used by local farmer to be the cause of their dogs early death cancer. The herbicide is used in an area of the local Peppermint Park where all of the dogs were known to play. Many dog owners had 1 or 2 of their dogs die within months of each other due to some form of cancer. A chemical in the herbicide is known to possible cause cancer in dogs. The city has yet to do anything about this, but are planning to meet soon to deal with it.
I believe that herbicide might very well be the cause of the death of the dogs. It just doesn't make sense that multiple dogs wold die from some form of cancer who had all be known to frequently visit that park.
Synthesis
I think this partially relates to the introduction of the FDA to regulate the food production industry. These herbicides were being used to grow hay for cows which will then most likely be sold for food and the chemicals could be passed to us and cause sickness like was shown in the dogs.
