The teachers in Frankfort,Kentucky had what they called “a day of action. They are saying since doesn’t get any additional funding parents will send their children to private schools which some of those don’t accept special needs students which is not fair. Most of the public school districts in Kentucky canceled school on Friday to let teachers support the rally. The Kentucky Education Association opposes a pension reform bill the bill only enters a hybrid cash-balance plan and limit the sick days teachers have to put towards their retirement,The teachers also want Governor Bevin vetoes of budget and revenue bill to be overrun.Teachers in another states are also joining forces to push for better pay and working conditions some are going to extreme measures such as the Oklahoma nine-day walkout. This reminds of the student movement because of the teach-ins because the teachers held “walk-ins” that they did to call attention to the problems and create awareness.
