West Virginia Teachers Still On Strike- Makaria Harris

Teachers across West Virginia have been on strike for more than a week in protest over their pay and benefits.The strike began on  February 22, the day after Governor Justice,signed legislation providing teachers, school service personnel, and state police with a 2 percent salary increase starting in July and scheduling a 1 percent pay hike for teachers in 2020 and 2021. Teachers’ unions said that the raises wouldn’t cover the cost of living increases.

Strikes have been a thing since like forever! But when was there really a strike that affected so many children in the course of it recently? Glad teachers stand up for their much needed pay.
