Katelyn Thompson- Middle school teacher secretly ran white supremacist podcast, says it was satire
https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/05/us/dayanna-volitich-white-nationalist-florida-school-podcast-trnd/index.html
Dayanna Volitich is a seventh grade teacher in Florida who spends time on the side making a podcast called "unapologetic", where she expresses all of her political views that she can'y express to her bosses. She also is responsible for a twitter account where she has repeatedly made many racist and antisemitic remarks. Volitich claims that her podcasts were "political satire and exaggeration", and the persona was a hobby. Many have criticized her for bringing a political bias into her classroom. Volitich has been removed from the school as the school district reviews her behavior. The Citrus County School District said that the Human Resources department was notified immediately when this situation arose.
This article was written by Aj Willingham by CNN. It shows how truly powerful free speech is and how teachers have such a powerful influence on their kids. Volitich should never have brought in her political opinions in a classroom setting, if she did. This story really shows a side of the first amendment created by our founding fathers. Free speech can be good-right to say what they want without punishment, but free speech can also be dangerous and can conspire against other races and religions. This case is the latter.
This is article can be related back the 1st amendment being made in the Bill of Rights.

She does have the right to free speech, but I don't think she should be bringing bias into the classroom or making statements of hate.
