Created by the innovative construction company, ICON, and the charity, New Story, America's first permitted, 3D printed home was just recently put up in Austin, Texas. As a result, organizations have begun collaborating towards creating whole 3D-printed home communities in rural El Salvador or Haiti. Each home costs around $4,000 to be produced, in addition to human labor needed to construct it together after the desired pieces have been created from locally-sourced materials and mortar. It takes around 12 to 24 hours for each home to be completed.
