The CEO of Delta airlines is facing backlash after cutting ties with the National Rifle Association. Delta has ended the group discount rate used for NRA members attending the annual meeting and has asked them to take their name off the NRA's website. "Our decision was not made for economic gain and our values are not for sale," We are in the process of a review to end group discounts for any group of a politically divisive nature." The CEO also said that their customers have a wide range of views concerning how to protect schools, and they wanted to remove any affiliation with the NRA during this debate.
I believe that Delta's decision was right, and I hope more companies do the same. If the general public sees that huge companies are cutting relations with the NRA, it might make them question their morals. This story is similar to the United states entry into WW2. It took the bombing of Pearl Harbor (and other factors) to convince us to enter, and the recent school shooting is similar to this.
