On October 11, 2013, Fort-Worth mother, Janice Rene Anthony
was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Anthony, 20-years-old, was convicted over
killing her daughter over bathroom accidents. She pleaded guilty to the
September 2012 murder of her 3-year-old, Paris Howard. According to police,
Anthony originally told them that the bruises found on Paris’ body were caused
by a fall down the stairs. However, medical examiners were able to determine
that she was strangled to death. Later, Anthony admitted to beating the child
while attempting to potty train her. Anthony says she choked her on the night
before she was found dead.
This is such a sad and unfortunate story. It’s so disturbing
to think about a mother getting so upset at a 3-year-old who has not yet been
potty trained. If a woman can’t take care of her kids without beating them, she
should not be a mother. That is common sense.
There are people out in the world who can’t even have kids but want them
and have so much to offer them, but people like this mother have kids and
decide to neglect—worse—kill them. There will never be a long enough sentence
to justify what she has done, but hopefully her 35 years will really straighten
her out.

That is terrible! I can't imagine anyone being so upset with a 3-year-old. Although there is nothing that can be done for the child in this situation, I hope other children in similar situations are helped before it comes to this.
ReplyDeleteShe only got 35 years for taking a life? Should've got worse, an eye for an eye.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?! I am so disgusted by this story. Everyone makes mistakes, she was a child a baby! Where their any medical issues with the parents?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure their was.
What a terribly sad story. I do not understand how someone, espcially a mother, could get so angry at a situation that she does this type of thing to her very own child. The poor little kid, probably didn't understand what he had even done.
