Adrian Peterson, star of the Minnesota Viking's, two year old son was abused and killed by the boyfriend of the boys mother. The boyfriend, Joseph Robert Patterson has been charged with aggravated battery of an infant and aggravated assault. He could go to jail for 40 years and have to pay a $80,000 fine. Patterson called the police saying that the boy was choking in his apartment in Sioux Falls and they took the boy to the hospital and discovered that he was being abused. Patterson was the only one at the apartment so they suspected it was him and the judge set a bail for him at $750,000 during his initial court appearance. This is very sad to hear that such a young boy was killed. He could have lived a great life and grown up to be an amazing person. I can't imagine how Adrian or the young boy's mother is feeling right now. Adrian is being strong about it, he has been posting inspirational quotes on twitter and he says he is going to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. I would like to watch this game because I think a lot of people are going to be wearing his jersey and honoring him. It is very touching to see how strong he is in this situation, I don't think a lot of people could be like him in this situation, I know I wouldn't be.

Why isn't this man charged with more serious crimes (MURDER) as the tot died from the injuries sustained from the brutal beating. $80, 000 will never replace the boy's life. The mother of the child should not have been so stupid as to leave her child under his care.
