The United States National Security Agency has apparently been collecting large amounts of contact lists from the emails and IM accounts of hundreds of thousands of people. Many American citizens have had adverse reactions to hearing this information. The NSA is saying that they are only obtaining this information for the sake of finding connections on foreign intelligence targets. A spokesman for the National Security Agency stated to the Post that, "We are not interested in personal information about ordinary Americans." This statement was made to be reassuring to the American people that they're not being intruded on. In comparison to the people with negative views on this topic, there are an equal amount of people who are not upset at all. They claim that Edward Snowden, former contractor of the NSA, is a "human rights champiom."
