Sam Romine - Trumps Brands Raid on Lawyer Michael Cohen's Office 'Disgraceful'

Trump made these remarks on a raid carried out earlier today, which was authorized by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who has been investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 Presidential Election. In the raid, FBI agents seized 'privileged communications' between Cohen and his clients, paperwork involving the covering up of the President's affair with Stormy Daniels, and more. Several lawmakers have branded the raid as 'unnecessary' and 'inappropriate,' but what the investigation yields will decide the moral ramifications.

This raid shares some similarities with the Watergate scandal that occurred under the Nixon administration; the entrance of government officials into a third parties headquarters, or, in this case, office. Although the Watergate scandal widened the credibility gap far more than this event will, the raid on Cohen's office is important nonetheless because it shows that perhaps Mueller on a path to discovering evidence of a Russian collusion.
