On Friday, a junior hockey team from Canada got in a car accident (while in a bus), and 15 died. They were the Humboldt Broncos, and they were going to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs. It happened at an intersection where two rural roads meet. The 15 died, and the other 14 that were on the bus got injured. Darcy Haugan was the coach, and she was one of the ones that passed. The whole town is grieving, instead of the home game they were supposed to have on Sunday, they are having a vigil that will fill the arena with teddy bears, flowers, and jerseys. It was also said that because the town is small, having around 4800 people, everyone knows everyone and it is very based off of community.
This relates to APUSH because when things happen that are rough at home, communities have always come together, like when all the workers in the US, even women, came together during WW11.
