Manon McCollum -- Sean Hannity’s idea of ‘attorney-client privilege’ was right out of ‘Breaking Bad’

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2018/04/17/sean-hannitys-idea-of-attorney-client-privilege-is-right-out-of-breaking-bad-its-also-wrong/?utm_term=.38b05b04397e

News broke today that Sean Hannity, infamous fox news host, was on the client list of Presidential lawyer Michael Cohen. This presents a huge conflict of interest, as Hannity has gone on air attacking the FBI raid on Cohen's office, and supporting the lawyer.

When asked about his relationship with Cohen, Hannity stated that he "might have handed him 10 bucks [and said,] ‘I definitely want your attorney-client privilege on this'". Twitter immediately drew a comparison to Breaking Bad character Saul Goodman, who told his drug-dealing clients to "put a dollar in his pocket" to ensure attorney-client privilege.

This story just piles on to the growing heap of evidence that both Cohen and all of his clients have participated in shifty, nigh-illegal activity. It does not surprise me in the least that Hannity, a good friend and political propaganda machine for the President, has allowed this huge conflict of interest to continue.

This story reminds me of some of the rampant political spying and ubiquitous illegal activity that led to the break-in at the Watergate hotel, or the madcap foreign policy wheeling and dealing of the Iran-Contra scandal. The sad fact is that this entire administration can be compared to any of the major scandals from our history, because this white house has produced one huge scandal after another.
