China stated that they're prepared to fight if a trade war emerged with all these tariff threats being thrown around, while Trump tweeted that "U.S-China trade is stupid trade." He also predicted that the U.S would win in the negotiations over trade issues with China on Sunday, which he states would result in a "great future for both countries." On the other hand, there are people who believe that China is bluffing when they say they'll negotiate with the U.S as an equal on trade because they don't have the economic power to deal with America in the first place.
Honestly, I'm not too sure what will happen in the end when you have someone like Trump in office. Either way, I definitely hope a trade war doesn't break out because that wouldn't be good for anyone. There's been things like trade wars and embargoes throughout history, and a lot of them hurt the economy rather than help it.
