Current event- Victoria Bruno

Summary:
Chuck Todd, an NBC employee, was a site of controversy when he went to twitter and stated
"I'm a bit hokey when it comes to "Good Friday." I don't mean disrespect to the religious aspect of the day, but I love the idea of reminding folks that any day can become "good," all it takes is a little selflessness on our part. Works EVERY time."

Many people saw this as an attack to the Christian fate and many others saw this as a bit ignorant, but was not meant to be taken negatively.

How it relates to history:
Everyone has a right to free speech and the freedom of religion. There had been many debates over and when religion should play apart in politics and if influential people have the right to state their opinion on such matters. Even when America's government was first set up, the debate over the use of religion was there.

My opinion:
I don't necessarily see this tweet as a bad tweet. He has a right to state his own opinion and the truth of the matter is that this just raises more awareness about this topic. For people apart of the Christian faith I can understand why this may be seen as offensive because of how he treated it a bit nonchalantly. That doesn't mean he deserves death threats however.
