Can Google replace photographers with an algorithm?
This new gadget was released not to long ago in February. The main idea was to automate the job of any ordinary photographer. This small square camera is to be placed on any surface. They reccomend that you put it somewhere where there is frequent action. It captures a candid picture on its own when it decides if it would be a good photo opportunity. People have said that although this camera is watching you, it docent feel creepy. Google has been very careful with the privacy side of things. It is programed to take pictures of mostly happy faces, and it starts recognizing family members and takes more pictures of them.
This is honestly pretty creepy to me... It is probably very safe, however the thought of someone watching me through a camera is scary. Most people don't think this will go anywhere however it might contribute to evolving photography. Finding more automatic ways, and embracing the more candid style rather then the "Instagram ready" style.

  1. I agree that it is creepy, but technology is progressing and improving every day.

  2. I think this could get out of hand or hacked very easily.
