The captain, coach and 5 other members of a junior hockey team were killed in western Canada when a tractor T-boned their bus. The impact ripped apart the semi and scattered its contents across the highway. Of the survivors, 14 were hurt, and three are still in critical condition, one of which has broken his back. An online fundraiser has collected $1.4 million dollars by Sunday afternoon, with other hockey teams contributing $10,000.
This is a terrible tragedy, and all the survivors and victim's families need support. The worst part about this tragedy is the fact that it probably wasn't preventable, and could happen again. This reminds me of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire on March 25, 1911. Both events are some of the worst accidents in history.

It's so horrible that we live in a world where accidents like these can't really be prevented. We may make vehicles as safe as possible but tragedies like this will always occur.
