West Virginia teachers still on strike-Sophie Sandoval

On Monday West Virginia failed to meet the pay that teachers requested to they went on strike. This ongoing strike has lasted for nine days and more to come. Ryan Ferns said he has a solution to this dispute. The committee will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday to discuss his solution to the dispute. Schools in almost all 55 counties will remain closed because fellow teachers will be going to this meeting for moral support. Last week union leaders said they would give teachers a 5% pay raise. However, the senate passed a 4% not a 5. Therefore, teachers said they won't work until they get the 5% pay raise.

I believe it's not fair on the teachers point of view because the original raise was 5%. This situation is related to labor strikes like in the 1900's. Labor strikes are when employees refused to work and went on strike until problem was resolved or they were fired. This situation I believe will get resolved but it could get messy is the senate docent give them the 5% the teachers deserve.
