Trump wiretapping claim: Did Obama bug his successor?

Summary: One of Trump's most outlandish statements to date. He accused Obama of wire-tapping Trump tower during the election. Apparently, Trump thought Obama was going to rig the election, so, Trump decided to accuse Obama of this through tweets? While the FBI was busy investigating allegations of Russian involvement with the election, they investigated this too. They found not evidence of any wire-tapping.

Analysis: This is very similar to Watergate, except, in watergate, tapping actually happened. And, unfortunately, no one resigned this time. I think, by catching or accusing Obama for something that didn't even happen, Trump inherently thought the negative attention would be away from him. But, this was not found true in the slightest, and keeps his character still untrustworthy.
