"U.S. Navy Picks up 1 Year Old Who Became Sick at Sea" - Camille Farrar

This article chronicles the events of a family that has been living at sea (not continuously) for seven years. Their plan is to eventually travel the world in their boat. They left their San Diego home about two weeks ago in order to make a voyage. They brought their 3 year old daughter Cora and their 1 year old daughter Lyra. A few days ago, the Coast Guard received a distress call from the family after Lyra had become sick. All were rescued, and the article says Lyra is in stable condition. The family says they will continue on their quest to sail around the world at some point.
It’s very interesting that this family would have a goal of sailing around the world. I don’t think I would be able to be at sea for nearly that long. I’m very glad that all four family members were successfully rescued and are now out of harm’s way. I hope Lyra makes a full recovery very quickly. Hopefully, this family will be out sailing again in no time at all. I am going to try to stay up to date with their story in the coming months and see if they begin their trip again.
