While delivering a speech to the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries in Las Vegas, former US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton dodged a shoe throw from an audience member. The woman was quickly escorted out by security and questioned by the Secret Service. Her motives are still unclear. She will be chraged, but the charges are currently unknown.
I remember when former President Bush was a victim of a shoe throw in 2008 in Baghdad. The article notes that shoe throwing is considered an insult in Arab countries. Regardless of your political view or opinions, throwing a shoe or performing any other potentially physically harmful act is completely disrespectful and crude. If one so passionately disdains a politician, they should not go an event in which their hatred will lead to this. I'm glad Mrs. Clinton was not injured as a result of this unfortunate incident.
