South Korean Ferry - Beatriz Ruiz 4th period

On Wednesday, April 16, 2014 by the South Korean coast the Sewol ferry started to sink. To this day 108 corpses have been found dead and 194 people remain missing. Around 200 of the passengers were high school students going on a field trip to jengu. Most of them are still missing and some have been found dead. The weather conditions around 50 degree Fahrenheit don't help the rescuers do their job and the low visibility under water make the diver's job very complicated, "divers can't even see their hands",said koh myjung seok. People say that because the ferry started to sink in the morning most of the missing people may have been in the cafeteria. They have been trying to reach that area very cautiously with not much result. Day to day it's gets harder to find corpses and by this time probability of survivors is very low. Families have called this a huge mess because the wait ashore is drastic for news about their missing relatives.

  1. This is completely tragic and the fact that we have such advanced technology and was still unable to provide protection for these passengers aboard is quit unbelievable and needs to be taken into consideration since we are so advanced.
