Friday April 18th, Debra Denison shot her own grandsons and then proceeded to kill herself. She left a note explaining her reasoning behind the murder. She wrote that the children's parents didn't deserve children and that she wanted them to feel the loss of a child. It is said that she had a long history of mental illness, one of them being multiple personality disorder. Denison and her daughter, Brenda Perry, in the past had their ups and down but recently it was said that they had patched things up. This just goes to show that mental illness is not something that should be taken lightly.
This is such a sad story. I couldn't imagine what the family must be feeling. The fact that it was the grandmother who killed her own grandsons is very unsettling to me. Grandmothers are supposed to be the ones that a child can count on for the unconditional love. I realize that she did had a mental illness but it doesn't take away the fact that she took two young lives and her own that evening. It is still really sad.

this is very shocking and has a lot of mixed feelings.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to even fathom something like this: the perp has got to be in a warped state of mind, and her logic was all off. Rest in Peace to the two grandsons, and my condolences go out to their mom.
