"Andy Warhol's Lost Computer Art Found 30 Years Later" - Camille Farrar

Recently, the computer club at Carnegie Mellon University has found some of Andy Warhol’s works that were believed to be lost. The works were created on an Amiga computer in 1985. They were only found because Cory Arcangel’s curiosity was sparked when he saw a Youtube video of Warhol promoting the Amiga 1000. The pieces have been on a floppy disk for nearly 30 years. One of the images is a self-portrait of the artist and another is a different version of his famous Campbell’s soup can. The pictures were saved in another format after being found so that they won’t be lost if something happens to the floppy disk.
I chose to read this article because the prospect of new art by Andy Warhol piqued my interest. I am extremely glad that we are now able to see these works that have been lost for so long. It is incredible that these pieces have been lost for 30 years and we are just now finding them. I would have loved to see what Warhol would have done if he had access to all of the technology we have today. There could have been many more amazing pieces created in this case.

  1. This is crazy!!! That's truly amazing that more art from such a famous artist has JUST been found. It also makes you wonder what other works are lost and have yet to be found from other artists.
