I found this video and it is really intriguing. The concept behind it is to watch how a child matures over 14 years. in the first 20 seconds Lotte (the girl in the video) looks very much like a baby turning into a toddler looks, you can watch how her infant skin turns into a tougher, more calloused. As time goes on, she begins to turn into a young child and goes through many hairstyles and mood changes. Sometimes she's smiling and sometimes crying or being annoyed with the camera.
Prior to watching this, i knew children aged (duh), but i didn't realize how excruciatingly long it took. In perspective to how slow other things change like ecosystems or solar systems or galaxies, its not even close to a nano second, so it's cool to put this time lapse into perspective.
This is so cool! It's often difficult to describe exactly how someone may look different because aging is such a long-term process, as you've said, but a video would make it so easy to see immediately how a person has changed over time. I'd say this is one of the most interesting ways technology has shaped how we can view time.
ReplyDeleteAw that's sweet. Props to her parents for documenting all of that, but I bet she will be really thankful when she's older to see how she matured over the years.
