Rob Lowe on the Problems With Being Pretty by: steffani lopez

Rob Lowe has just published his second memoir in which he explains his life as an actor and the dealing with different obstacles of growing up pretty. He has to tell the stories of overcoming the dumb stereotype that pretty people can't be funny. It's uncomfortable to hear himself talk about how pretty he is because normally that adjective is used on women.

In this article i learned a lot about Rob Lowe that i did not necessarily want to know. I wish i hadn't read it.

  1. Well, come on now, "pretty" is just a word, he didn't use it to offend you. I thought he made some really interesting points and it turns out that they apply to lots of male actors who feel the need to take on more outlandish roles so Hollywood will see them for their abilities rather than their looks. We often forget that men have pressures to look a certain way just like women, although the scope of that pressure isn't quite the same.
