"Florida Day Care Center Crash: Suspect to be Held Over Weekend" - Camille Farrar

Last week on Wednesday, a car was flung into a daycare after it was hit by an SUV in Florida. The car killed a four-year-old, Lily Quintus; 13 other children were injured, as was one adult. Robert Alex Corchado has been accused of the crime and is currently in jail. The trial was today, but nothing has been published on the verdict to my knowledge. Corchado fled the scene after the accident. He allegedly has multiple drug and gang charges from past times. Lily’s seven-year-old brother said he wants to become an engineer and build a time machine to bring his sister back.
Stories like this one make me especially sad because they are about young children who will never have the chance to achieve their potential. I hope all of the injured people are recovering without permanent repercussions. My thoughts are with Lily’s family in this time. I thought the brother’s words were extremely sweet. It shows how innocent and sweet children are. He may not have thought about building a time machine before this point, but now, when he no longer has his sister, all he wants to do is bring her back. We have a lot to learn from children, and I hope we can become more like them in the years to come.
