Summary:
A failure of California's Oroville spillway, which caused 200,000 people to flee their homes has shown that the long drought is over. The Oroville Dam holds the states second largest reservoir completely full of natural water collectimg. Sacramento has gotten 3x as much rain as average in this year alone. But, California still remains 47% in drought. Last month, federal scientists declared the drought in the northern parts of California to be over saying " Bye-bye drought...Don't let the door hit you on the way out."
Analysis:
This article written by Doyle Rice on February 13,2017 talks about the wave of release on some parts of California with not having to worry about drought anymore. Drought effects all of us. Everyone has been in the situation of stressing to get water for their families, some more than others. And one cause of this is the rise in Global Warming and temperature, evaporating more and more water. It's all of the pollution and waste that us humans have created, that has damaged the earth permanently. All of us in Dallas have experienced drought many times before, and the number keeps rising.
