Qiaunci Jones- "We were his slaves"
Shamsul Arefin is serving a three-year prison sentence for the labor trafficking of a group of men from Bangladesh. Among the victims was Abdul Azad. He was a chef in his family's business back home in Dhaka, when was attracted by an advert in the local paper advertising chef work in the UK. They attract hundreds of tourists every year and up until a couple of years ago, many would have stayed at the 37-bedroom Stewart hotel. He used them to work for the hotel under harsh conditions.
This article is important that trafficking is worldwide. This relates to one of my previous articles where the woman was kidnapped into an illegal trafficking. It's sad to know the world is so cruel to lie to people just to benefit themselves. I feel so bad because most of these men were trying to work to live a better life with their families now fear they may never see them again. The world makes me sick.
