Madison Harvey - Trump's Comments about Sweden
Summary- Donald Trump held a rally in Florida on Saturday where he spoke about problems that Sweden was having due to allowing refugees into their country. He said "We've got to keep our country safe. You look at what's happening in Germany. You look at what's happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what's happening in Brussels. You look at what's happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris." But nothing had happened in Sweden the night before. It appears that Trump got his information from watching a Fox News report where the host was interviewing Ami horowitz, a filmmaker who has tried to tie Sweden's taking in of asylum seekers to increased violent crimes in the country. The former Swedish Prime Minister, Carl Bildt, Tweeted about Trump's comments. "Sweden?, Terror Attacks? What has he been smoking."
