Donald Trump Says Media Outlets Are Fake News Then Quotes Inaccurate Information at CPAC - Sydney Bridgeforth

Summary

Trump blasts 'fake news' and repeats inaccurate claims at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland on Friday.  He blasted the news media as "dishonest," repeated a string of falsehoods, and wrapped up by promising to change the status quo.

He started on a rant saying, "I want you all to know that we are fighting the fake news.  It's phony, fake.  They have a professional obligation as members of the press to report honestly.  But as you saw throughout the entire campaign, and even now, the fake news does not tell the truth."  He went as far as banning CNN and other news outlets from covering this event.

Analysis

This article was written today by Linda Qiu.  I have never read any previous works by her, but enjoyed the way she presented the facts surround Trump and he claims while at CPAC.  She took every point he made and followed it with dated facts.  She was unbiased and merely presented the facts against his inaccurate claims.

I have not been around an extremely long time, but this time in history is something I have yet to witness.  Media outlets do have to report honestly and I feel he only feels they do if they are praising him.  Unfortunately it's not the place of the media to fluff ones' ego.  They did not do it with former Presidents Obama, Bush, Clinton or Bush.  They merely report the news as is and it is up to us (the people) to draw our own conclusions.

Maybe after his first 100 days in office, he will begin the o focus on the job at hand and stop always wanting to be in the media.  This is not a reality show where the cameras constantly follow you around.  This, Donald Trump, is the United States of America.  You were chosen to do a job, get to work and stop with the three old fake media tantrums.

  1. This is an example of the limiting of freedom of the press in the nation today.
