Katie Haidet - Without Water in Chile

Summary: In Santiago, Chile, water has been cut off for millions of people. Rainstorms and landslides have been the main cause. Many people are striving to stock up on as much water they can get, and many businesses and restaurants were told to stay closed. Until the water can flow more clearly, the water to the majority of the city is cut off from the Maipo river. Severe isolation was created because of the large amount of water flowing from the Andes. 1.45 million people have been affected by this. Four people have died from these floods.

Analysis: This article was published on BBC New. This article connects to a lot of problems around the world. Nobody should have to go a day without access to water. There is no way to but a stop that the situation considering it is a natural disaster. Nature is something that normally cannot be controlled, and in this case, they cannot do much more to help control the flooding. Prior to reading this article, I had not heard about this. This article reminds me of the event of the Galveston Hurricane which completely flushed out all of Galveston and lots of people lost their lives. I am hoping that the community is able to help the flooding.
