On Sunday night, the oscars were live on television, hosted by Jimmy Fallon. When the last award was being announced, best picture, everyone was looking forward to the surprise. The announcers read the card and said La La Land won mistakenly! Minutes later, many workers came on stage announcing that it was a mistake and that Moonlight had officially won, showing the card to the cameras.
Apparently, the announcers had grabbed the wrong card, it reading "Emma Stone for La La Land" They apologized on live tv. But overall, congratulations Moonlight! You deserved it!

This was just like the Steve Harvey thing when he was announcing Ms. (Blank). -Jada Brown
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really happy that Moonlight won. It features an LGBTQ+ character, an extremely diverse cast, and one of the previous Oscars went to an actor from this movie, who was the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar.

I am so glad they figured out the issue so quickly. Very excited Moonlight won, but I feel bad for La La Land for them thinking they won!
