Summary: On Monday, 11 civilians walked through TSA security metal detectors without being checked at the J.F.K Airport. Apparently the checkpoint had no TSA workers to supervise and so these people just walked through; the metal detector went off 3 times. TSA has stated "TSA works with a network of security layers both seen and unseen. We are confident this incident presents minimal risk to the aviation transportation system." They say they will find those 11 passengers, and to check those 3 people who set off the metal detector.
Analysis: Wow this is crazy! How could this happen? How can 11 people just walk through the TSA checkpoint without being screened? This is very concerning, TSA is a Federal Agency, you would think that they would be a little more cautious. Yes, I know that these people were not terrorists or criminals, but think of what could've happened if they were. This is quite embarrassing on TSA's part, and I hope whoever left their station to let this happen is given a job they can handle.
This can be connected to the September 11th attacks, because of how people were able to just walk into the airport and board without being screened- and yes i know the security at the airports were much more lax during the attacks, but you get the point.
