http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/21/aviation/jfk-security-breach/index.html

Last Monday, 11 people got through the TSA security checkpoint at JFK with out being screened. They all proceeded to board different flights. The police were able to identify 3 of the people from video cameras. they are still searching for the remaining 8.

This article highlights that even since 9/11 there are still some issues with airport security. There is always room for improvement. This can synthesize to when people were worried about immigrants in the mid 1800's. They saw the immigrants as threats to their jobs and their way of life just as these men were seen as threats. This also related to immigrants going through Ellis island in order to get to america.
