Victoria Rhodes 5th period "Americans Open Their Homes to French Travelers"

we are all aware of the situation that is going on in france. what happened is a terrorist that took the lives of many innocent people that did not deserve the end they got. just as we begin feeling that the world is horrible and that there is no hope for humanity, stories begin to surface of americans using the hashtag #strandedinus on twitter to offer housing and help to locals of France trying to get home but can't. the airports in france were still open, but most flights got cancelled because of the ongoing threat leaving many stranded.

analysis: a terrorist attack is something that will change a nation and the people there. the attack was something that was not expected and something that could not have been prevented. over a hundred people were killed and none of those people ever did anything in their lives to deserve what happened. the friends and families of those people will not be same and will have to suffer the loss of a loved one for the rest of their lives. i think that in a time of despair the little small things really do matter. people that can't really do much politically or socially in the government are finding ways to help those in need. this small act of unity proves that no matter what, humanity will find a way to come together and do what can be done to help. in history there has been wars and there has also been proof of  people attempting to make things better in their own way. when there was racial injustice in the deep south, some southerners helped slaves escape/ keep them hidden in their homes at their own expense which is an example of people going out of their way to help.

  1. I find this so inspiring and just proves how even though it was a horrible tragedy, we continue to support each other.
