After the murder of 17 year old Laquan Mcdonald by a Chicago police officer, one 21 year old man decided to take to the internet and "avenge" the teen. He posted online that he was planning on shooting 16 white students and/or staff at the University of Chicago, one for each time Laquan was shot in the chest.
Although the man was arrested, his posts do raise caution and suspicion on issues of police brutality, gun violence, and campus security. Much must be taken into consideration.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a terrifying thing to see. Threats of terrorism seems to be growing more and more each day. Just today I saw that there was a threat that every kid at Browne Middle School in Dallas was going to be shot especially "those stupid ass eighth graders" according to the post which was the caption under a photo of a man holding some kind of gun.
I am so angry. I don't know what to do, I feel like it's so out of my control...
DeleteIt's sad that the kid died but it's no better to get revenge.
ReplyDeleteRevenge is never okay, even with the purest intentions. It's become scary how open and violent people have become, what with all that's happening on social media and through the news. Even with daily entertainment our nation is being so negatively influenced, I worry that soon things will be far, far out of our control.
