Brief Analysis: In the spirit of Thanksgiving I decided to make a thanksgiving themed blog post. Mrs. Countryman, I am thankful that you accept a lot of extra credit, it saves me. Anyways, I stumbled across this post about the remembrance of the fact that pilgrims were refugees too. This post really related present day to history. When the Mayflower landed in New England in the early 17th century, they created a dinner celebrated which is now Thanksgiving. The Native Americans shared their land and way of life with the pilgrims. "But incendiary rhetoric over Syrian refugees and whether to admit them into the U.S. in the wake of the deadly Paris attacks is at odds with the United States' historical role in the world -- that of giving shelter to the oppressed."
