Summary: We all remember the story that began a few months ago when a kid brought a "homemade" clock to school and he was arrested. After all this publicity that was poured out over him, he now claims that all of it ruined his reputation worldwide and demands that the city of Irving gives him $15 million. His family claims that he has been forever branded as being that bomb-making kid. The city of Irving and Irving ISD both have said that they have knowledge of this but make no comment. The boy's family claim that if the city doesn't give them the money then they will file a civil suit.
Analysis: What kind of dirty blackmail is going on here? Seriously I thought this whole thing was over when he went to the White House and got all of that free stuff. The boy claims that all of the free stuff has given him a bad reputation world wide. THEN DON'T ACCEPT THE FREE STUFF. I believe that this kid has made this whole thing a ploy. Engineers have proven that this kid didn't even make this clock! It's a clock from the 70's that he simply took the case off of and screwed into a pencil case. He didn't want to show his teachers his work, he wanted international publicity. And then the $15 million: where does that number even come from? You're gonna make the claim that the city of Irving has ruined your child's reputation by trying to protect themselves when they see a clock attached to a circuit board thats in a case? I know that I would've called in the authorities immediately and wouldn't have cared one tiny bit about whatever race/ethnicity this kid was so don't go and make this thing about race because its not. I believe that ever since people have gained the right to sue, there have been people that use it for the wrong reasons. Think of Dred Scott. All he wanted was the right to sue so that he could be free. We take that right to sue and we use it for the wrong reasons. I think that we need to start seeing that the ability to sue is a privilege that they don't have in some countries and us misusing it is truly wrong.

i would have called the police also not caring about race/ethnicity, these teachers did nothing wrong, they saw something that looked like a bomb and acted on it. This kid is taking advantage of the situation. Someone is leading him to do so, where else would a kid even get the idea of asking for 15 million, maybe this family is linked to a terrorist organization in the Middle East, and i would not be surprised if so they were found linked or "recruited"
