The Fire Department arrived at Carmel Avenue in Fort Worth Texas to a scene where a woman was seen trying to pull her husband out of her home. The incident occurred on Thanksgiving morning when Lula Johnson was preparing her Thanksgiving meal when the house was sent into flames and she realized her husband was trapped inside their bedroom. She left the house and went around to the bedroom window and smashed their bedroom window open and climbed in to save her husband. She pulled him out of the room and a neighbor called the ambulance and they arrived shortly. The husband is being treated for his second degree burns and is recovering well. Although the family has no meal on this Thanksgiving day, and no home to go to they express that they are thankful for each other and being together is all that matters.
Thanksgiving is a day that Americans celebrate as a day to represent their thankfulness and gratefulness for what they have.
That is a great story! I'm glad that the husband is okay, it's refreshing to see a family so grateful to just be together despite the events that happened. -Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex
