Synopsis: The surveillance and protective technology the U.S. is using to fight terrorist activity across the world is getting more and more advanced every year. NRO Director Betty Sapp explains that the satellites they use don't just see from space; they hear and sense vibrations. They can use these features to trace weapons being traded. They can also recreate virtual versions of buildings and forts when planning to infiltrate them. On the internet side, the NSA is working to break encryptions that ISIS uses to recruit and plan on smartphones. The most frightening thing is that there is at least one ISIS-related investigation in each state, and they can crack American infrastructure even from out of the country.
Analysis: It's frightening how much technology and power ISIS is gaining, but it's also encouraging how advanced the NSA and other U.S. based organizations are at fighting terror groups, whether that be physically or in cyberspace. This could be compared to code crackers during WWII and the Cold War who fought their own war off the battlefield intellectually.

I agree, it is very frightening to see how much power ISIS is gaining. However, I really think that the NSA can eventually stop them. Atleast I hope.
ReplyDeleteMatthew Homsher 9th- That is terrifying. I'm glad the NSA exists, or else we would have a lot more to worry about in the United States.
