Luz Lopez(4th period)-The 'most entensive' face transplant in history gives firefighter new life

In 2001, Patrick Hardison entered a burning house. The burning roof fell on him and his mask burned onto his face. After that he jumped out the window. He had severe burns on his entire face, neck, head, and upper torso. He lost all his hair and eyebrows. He had over 70 surgeries. A member of his church heard of a transplant performed by Rodriguez. The church member called him and he moved to New York two days later. It took about a year to find a donor but one came along. A 26 year old biker who died was gonna donate. The operation took about 12 hours. In six months he should be able to talk normal again.
I think this was a trajic story that turned into a beautiful story. Patrick had to live with the pain of not having eyelids or hair and parts of his bone missing. I think it is amazing how our world and technology is changing for the better. It is truly a great discovery and I can't wait for more discoveries.
