Scientists Are Closer to Making an Invisible Cloak- Isabella Montague

Before, invisibility cloaks seem like something you would just read in Harry Potter, but they could very well soon be reality. Scientists have been working on a cloak that can hide whatever is under it. The scientists made the cloak very thin and able to wrap around the surface, and they use tricks to make light reflect off of the cloak. They can make a flat object look round and a round object look flat. The scientists have discussed military use, and even using the invisibility to hide unwanted pimples or fat.

Throughout history there have been many amazing inventions that once seemed so far fetched and incredible but are now commonly owned and seem simple to us. Maybe in 20 years, almost everyone will have an invisibility cloak and it will be a part of our everyday life. Personally I think this is pretty dern cool and I can see many possible uses for it. We should be careful, though, because there could be very many dangerous uses for this if it is in the wrong hands.

  1. This invention is really cool! It is interesting to see what influences movies like the Harry Potter series can have on science and technology.

Wow, a real life invisibility cloak. I wonder if the government would allow it to be public accessible. Probably not, but this is up there with the hover boards made last year
