Pope Francis Prays Over the Abused: Samantha Arthur 1st period

Pope Francis touched tons of people's hearts Sunday when he told the people of Philadelphia that "God weeps" at sexual abuse. The Pope met 5 victims of sexual abuse: 3 women and 2 men. The 5 victims suffered from abuse when they were minors, but confess that they still struggle with it today. Pope Francis listened to the victim's testimonies with open ears and then prayed with them.

I think the fact that Pope Francis is in America is beyond great and the fact that he's reaching out to people who have had some pretty rough patches is really heart warming. His interaction with civilians is a really eye opening thing for our society--it's changing the general view of catholicism in Europe.

  1. I personally am not an active believer in any higher power nor am I a fan of most major religious institutions, but this guy has done quite a few amazing things for the Catholic church and it's followers to open their minds and work to build bridges, rather than burn them. He's not the Christian equivalent of some edgy kid, he has a legitimate message of love and peace he intends to spread.

This man is the epitome of what Christianity should be. He dines with the homeless, blesses prisoners, and refuses gaudy gifts. I have never heard of a pope acting quite like he does and, seeing the large population of Christian followers, he holds an immense power for true change.

  4. In the christian world, being a catholic myself, see thi man as an example to all that you don't need much to live in this world and that you have to recognize that everyone good or bad has an intricate life and feelings which make them a person. He has changed so many lives just by his beliefs and prayers
