In Autumn of 2014 Iceland had a record breaking volcanic eruption- the biggest eruption Iceland has experienced in centuries. Scientists have been researching and collecting data on this eruption. Recently compiled data reveals that, at first, toxic gas emissions per day were 8 times the average emission levels of all of Europe combined. These massive toxic emissions have lead to acid rain and other damages to the environment.
This article is interesting because it is an example of how much geography and nature can effect cultures and civilizations.

ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how much of an impact a volcanic eruption can have. I remember hearing about that one eruption a while ago that created a giant ash cloud over the north Atlantic and parts of northern Europe, making temperatures drop and flights get delayed.
