Lara McLeod, now 23, was forced to have sex with her older sister's fiance, Joaquin Rams. Despite spoiling the families close ties with the soon-to-be husband, Lara told her parents the day after it happened, breaking down from trauma. Later that evening of informing her parents, Lara received a call from the Prince William County station, urgently needing to be formally interviewed. Following the interviewed, the Officers concluded Lara was lying about her rape and was immediately arrested for "obstructing justice." Comparing thi modern day even to the past, in a way Anne Hutchinson was questioned of her experiences too. Hutchinson was sent to trial in the disbelief that she was not receiving messages from God, the word she was spreading to her "followers" was aligned with Winthrop's, such banished from the colony. McLeod was not banished from the state of Virginia but she was accused of misrepresenting what really happened to the her, even if the Police had accurate proof.
