Florida Police arrest woman for riding sea turtles
Stephanie Moore, 20, was arrested for riding sea turtles after they were called for a fight. After the fight the police investigated and found that Moore had an arrest warrant because of failure to comply with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. The pictures had been forwarded to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission about people complaining over this issue. After is when everything went into notice. She was charged with possession, selling or disturbing a marine turtle or nest. Moore is currently being held on a $2,000 bond in Brevard County Jail.
Analysis: I think what the police did on this issue was the correct thing to do. It should be illegal to ride sea turtles. Not all animals are made for that. She also failed to comply with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission which is on her, her fault. What she was charged with was all true too, with one specifically, "disturbing a marine turtle." The outcome of this situation is all valid. I agree with how everything was handled.

What this woman did was very bold and disrespectful. It almost reminds meld the way Zoos treat animals and how they take advantage of the fact that these creatures can not use a voice.
ReplyDeleteThis article is kind of funny to me... I mean I agree "riding" a turtle is disrespectful to the animal, but I think as long as the animals weren't harmed I think the punishment is a little extreme. -Sophie Kurzius 8th
ReplyDeleteWild animals are not to be tampered with and are to be left alone. I personally believe this women's actions were highly disrespectful. I believe that everything this women is being charged with is very reasonable. Madeline Jones 4th period
