Derek Spellman "Death in the age of narcissism"

Summary: After John McCain's death many people talked about his life by recounting how they were associated with him. In a way they are a flexing how well they knew john mccain. Which is a natural thing to do as a person because when someone dies you think about how they affected your life. Instead of boasting how well we knew somebody that died we should talk about what we know about their life.

Analysis: I think posting about a death is inherently boastful no matter what you say. Unless you were one of the people that was closest to them and have information or a story about their life you want to share with fellow mourners. But I don't think it's really anybody's fault I think it's just an inherent flaw with social media. But other than that I agree with the author that many people want to talk about about famous deaths in a narcissistic way.
