Summary:
Yeni Sleidi, 23, the self professed "Weed Fairy" gave away free nuggets of marijuana to Seattle civilians over Memorial Day weekend. The broadcast it, she taped "free pot" on fliers around a city neighborhood. The 50 fliers had the weed nuggets attached to it. The fliers read: "These are tough times. Take this weed. And keep your spirits high." Sleidi says she does it to "amuse people and to give them a break from everyday stress. "She said the idea first came to her while she lived in New York during the government shutdown and several of her friends were affected by it. Sledi says she "wanted to distract them from the stress." Her distribution of marijuana in New York garnered a lot of media coverage.
Analysis: I think Sleidi should be careful not to get caught by the Seattle PD. Ownership, distribution and use of marijuana is illegal in the state of Oregon. It's interesting that calls to the Seattle PD were returned to comment on this report.
