McKenzie Hartmann- 92 year old graduates - 4th

This story is essentially about a ninety two year old woman, who after years of dreaming, finally graduated.  Ruth Brown Ross, the fore mentioned woman, dropped out of high school some 74 years ago and only recently revealed her regret in never gaining a diploma.  She confessed this to her granddaughter, prompting the girl to do some research into her grandmother's academic past.  What she found shocked her.  Her grandmother was not only on track to graduate before dropping out in order to get married, but would've graduated near the top of her class with honors.  Upon discovering this, her family began looking into acquiring a diploma for the senior.  Administrators at Ross' former high school decided she could graduate upon completion of a senior project.  She had to write what it was like to live through the Great Depression, and made a 15 minute video about the topic with the help of their family.  So, last Friday night, along with hundreds of people a fifth her age, Ross accepted an honorary degree and officially became a high school graduate.

I think this is a really inspiring story.  It shows a lot about this woman's character that after a life rife with hardships, ranging from the Great Depression, to World War 2 to the Civil Rights Movement, her biggest regret was not getting her diploma.  She can teach people a lot about perseverance and embodies the idea that it's never too late to achieve your dreams.
